Take the leap.

Call for speakers on ‘social,’ from our friends at Ignite Raleigh

Ignite Raleigh is coming next month, and they’re looking for speakers. Here’s a note from the organizers:

Come one, come all, propose your talks for the upcoming Ignite Raleigh speaker event!!

Ignite speakers share ideas that spark conversations, challenge the status quo and open minds. Each speaker has just five minutes to enlighten the audience; backed up with 20 slides that auto advance on the jumbo screen. Ignite is a phenomena that takes place in over 120 cities around the globe. Check out all the videos online of past Ignite speakers. They are smart, sassy, silly, sharp.

For the upcoming Ignite Raleigh theme, we’re asking people to share “How social is changing ____?”

Combine your passion and expertise.

Tell us the real deal, how is social changing your life? Your industry? Your habits? Your hobbies? Is it good, bad, ugly, or just entertaining? Is social the new normal or a phase? Think about the effect of Social on TV, science, music, education, government, art, technology, beer, sports, culture, family, dating. What is your story?

Ignite Raleigh 4 will be held November 14th at the Lincoln Theatre in Downtown Raleigh. Free Registration opens October 31st.

Props to Bre Pettis and Brady Forrest for getting this thing going, back in the day.

I haven’t seen either of them for quite a long time now, partly because of our retreat from Seattle to North Carolina and the sun.

I did a talk earlier this year, and totally recommend it if you have something to say about something you care about.

The local chapter of Ignite’s great because Ryan Boyles and his team make you feel like a star for a day. Seriously, it’s a ton of fun. Besides, who know what you might discover about yourself? –DK
